God’s Word –  For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.  Proverbs 5:21

Proverbs 5*  Examination… The Lord examines the heart!

Heavenly Father,

Oh how we love your name!  Lord when we think of you, and how you saved us and lifted us and planted our feet on solid ground.  All we can do is sing praises to your Holy name.  As the psalmist write; Lord O’ Lord how majestic is your name upon all the earth.  You have set your glory above the heavens.  You fill us with your presence.  You have set us apart and made us your own.  We thank you for the forgiveness of our transgressions and our sins Father.  Our desire is to love one another deeply because love covers a multitude of sins. We will be slow to speak, slow to get angry and quick to confess and repent of our sins.  We will forgive those who sin against us and ask that you reveal their hearts so that may grow in your grace. Your daughters will listen to you; we will not turn aside from what you say Lord. We will keep to a path far from the adulterer; we will not go near the door of their house, lest we give our best strength to others and our years to one who is cruel, lest strangers feast on our wealth and our toil enrich another’s house. We will be faithful to gain wisdom through your word, and gain understanding through your proverbs so that at the end of our life we will not groan, so that our flesh and body are spent.  Instead we will seek you and find salvation, and through Christ have eternal life.  We will not behave as the fool and say, “How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned correction!  We will obey our teachers and listen to our instructors. We will follow your commands and decrees because in them there is life, freedom and rest.  We do not desire to come to the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly.”  Thank you Father; You have made known to us the path of life; you will fill us with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand through Christ Jesus.  Thank you for your joy and your strength the power of the King of kings and the Lord of lords Christ in us.  We thank you for the many answers to prayer placed before your throne of grace.  We thank you for filling us to overflowing as we continue to move in faith through praying in your word.  In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
