God’s Word – God’s Word – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.  Proverbs 1:7

Proverbs 1 Knowledge comes through fear [reverence] of the Lord

Heavenly Father
We thank you for sustaining us in the midst of our troubles…
We  thank you for your word that equips us for all the circumstance we encounter within this life here on earth.  Thank you for the gift of Christ the living hope that is the anchor to our souls.  We ask for your protection from the evil one.  That your will be done in my life and each soul reading this  prayer today.  We  ask for your forgiveness with our sinful nature.  That your daughters would also be forgiving toward those who would sin against us just as you have forgiven us.  That we would thirst for your word as a deer pants for water.  That we would meditate on your word in the quiet of the night as we lay in our beds. Father may we spend time in your Holy Word: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to your daughters, knowledge and discretion to the young- Your daughters desire to do as the wise-they listen and add to their learning, and are discerning and get guidance- for attaining your awesome understanding of proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Father help us to fear your Holy Name so that we may begin to acquire knowledge of the scriptures so we may live obedient and disciplined lives. May we live each day with a changed heart through the power of your word, may it’s counsel empower us to grow by your wisdom, by your knowledge, by your understanding to live spiritually prosperous and successful lives as you have created us to.  Thank you for your victories and your advance answer to prayer. Thank you for grace that abounds, your protection and mercy over our lives our spouses and our children.   In Jesus’ precious name we ask all these things. Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
