God’s Word – A discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth. Proverbs 17:24

Proverbs 17 Discernment
Heavenly Father,
To you O LORD, we lift up our soul… To you O Lord come wisdom and knowledge.  You make all things known to those who seek you with a pure heart.  How excellent is your name!  You magnify your word higher than your excellent name… Father do not rebuke us in your anger or discipline in your wrath. Be merciful to us, LORD, for we are faint; O LORD, heal us, for our bones are in agony. Our soul is in anguish.  How long, O LORD, how long?  In your love and your tender mercies: Please turn, O LORD, and deliver us; save us because of your unfailing love.  We will turn from our wicked and foolish ways… We will follow your commands and write them on the tablet of our hearts, so that we would not sin against you.  Protect us from the schemes of the enemy.  Let us not be drawn to what is evil in your sight.  Forgive us Father for our transgressions and sins.  We will forgive others just as you have forgiven us.  We will train our children in your ways Lord, so that when they grow older they will not depart from your teachings. Your word instructs us: To have a fool for a son brings grief; there is no joy for the father of a fool. Let the foolishness be washed away with commitment, and trust in you through Christ and the power of the word.   A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.  Let us find joy in your presence that is Christ in us… Your word says; The joy of the Lord is our strength.  Let us be strengthened by the word that came to life that is Christ.  A wicked man accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the course of justice.   We desire not to pervert the course of justice you are in control of every good and bad thing under the sun.  A discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.  We ask for you God to fill us with the knowledge of your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that your daughters may live a life worthy of you Lord and may please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of you Father, being strengthened with all power according to your glorious might so that your daughters may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to you Father, who has qualified your daughters to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. We thank you for all the answers to all of our prayers… In Jesus name we pray…Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
