God’s Word –  Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance. Proverbs 20:18

Proverbs 20 – Guidance from the wise brings victory!

Heavenly Father,

Each morning we will sing to you a new song…You Lord satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may continually sing praises to your name.  Only through you there is life and peace, we sing for joy and will be glad all our days.  We cry out to you in our time of distress and you hear us, restore us and cleanse us by the washing of your word.  We thank you for your mercy and grace upon us. Thank you for the forgiveness of our transgressions and sins. We will forgive when someone has wronged us; we will not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge…, but we will love our neighbor as ourselves… “It’s no good, it’s no good!” says the buyer;
then off he goes and boasts about his purchase. We will not boast about tomorrow or anything else; we do not know what a day may bring forth. Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.  Refine us as gold, redefine our love and our faith through the power of your word;  that our words would be like a rare and precious jewel.  If we put up security for a stranger we could lose our garment, we will not do it for the wayward… Your word teaches food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel. Your daughters  will not defraud their neighbor, or pour out wicked lies.  We will make plans by seeking advice;  if we wage war,  we will seek to obtain guidance.  For victory we need  sound counsel and guidance through your mighty power and through your word.   A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much. We will not gossip or betray a confidence, we will seek to avoid one who talks too much.  If a man curses his father or mother, his lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness. We will honor our mother and father; because it your first command with a promise. We thank you for the victories you bring.  We thank your word of truth that prepares our hearts for every good work you call us to through Christ Jesus. Thank you Father for you provision in abundance; Protect us from the evil one… Please help us to keep our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Love in Christ,

Jennifer Pettiford
