Proverbs 26

Prayer:

Heavenly Father:

You are our refuge and strength!  It is because of you Lord that our strength rises as we wait on you.  You renew our strength as only you can do!  You cover us under the shadow of your wings.  We thank for your love that endures all things; We will watch our words, we will repent of our sins and forgive just as you have forgiven us. Your word teaches us: Like a lame man’s legs that hang limp is a proverb in the mouth of a fool. And like tying a stone in a sling is the giving of honor to a fool.  We will not listen to the words of a fool nor give honor to them or their name…  Like a thorn bush in a drunkard’s hand is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.  We will seek your face Lord; we will seek the wisdom of your written word breathed by you.   Like an archer who wounds at random is he who hires a fool or any passer-by.  We will watch our ways and seek your counsel in all our decisions.  We will heed your words about the fool; we will not be seduced by their bribes or words.  Your word teaches us just as a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.   Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.  We will humble ourselves before you Lord because only you will lift us up in your timing. The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!”  We will commit all our plans to you Father because only you can make our plans succeed. We will submit our struggles of procrastination to you. We will not fall into laziness. As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. We will go to ant as your word states; we will work unto you Lord and not unto man as your word commands.  We thank you for the strength that comes to us through the power of Christ in us, We thank you Father for the strength that brings us peace. We thank you for our Lord and King Jesus and the victories you bring to each of our lives.  In Christ name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Love in Christ,

Things to Consider:

  •  It is not fitting to give a fool honor
  • A fool returns to his/her folly
