Proverbs 21
Prayer:

Heavenly Father;
You are our strong tower, you hide us in the shadow of your wings.  We rejoice in the joy of your presence.  You Father know each word before we speak, you knit us together in our mothers womb.  May our words be few and your words be many.  We will forgive as you have forgiven us.  May we love deeply and forgive quickly as your word instructs us. May we speak healing words…The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man’s inmost parts. The words of the wicked are, “Lie in wait for blood,” But the mouth of the upright will deliver them. We will watch our words, because wicked words can lead us to ungodly actions like violence.  The violence of the wicked will drag them away, for they refuse to do what is right. We will not refuse to do what is right according to your word. Your word teaches us: The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright. Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.  We will display love through your strength Father through the power of your word.  Knowledge puffs up but love builds up; we will love as your word commands us to do.  We will submit to our husbands as unto to you and not behave like a quarrelsome wife who is like a constant dripping.  We watch our wicked ways: The wicked man craves evil; his neighbor gets no mercy from him.  We will love our neighbor as our self as you command us to do.  A wise person becomes even wiser still when rebuked; when a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge. The Righteous One takes note of the house of the wicked and brings the wicked to ruin. We will seek only your righteousness Father; your ways are higher than our ways.  If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.  We will not close our eyes to the poor, we will be faithful to pray for them and help so that you do not shut your ears to our prayers.   A gift given in secret soothes anger, and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.  We will not give into pride through a bribe; we will do what is righteous through the instruction of your word.  Thank you Father for your word of hope that is a shield to those of us who seek the knowledge and understanding through your Holy Scriptures; your word is a lamp unto our feet and a light onto our path.  We will seek you daily through your word. Thank you for the word that came to life through the birth of Christ.  In Jesus name we Pray…Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
