Proverbs 16 God’s Word – Divine Wisdom

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,

How excellent are your ways, You are our LORD Almighty and you are our glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of you people. You are a spirit of justice who sits in judgment, all your ways are just.  You LORD are our  source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate. We know Lord the battle is not ours but yours, so we will lay all concerns before you at the throne of the cross. Your daughters will speak good words because a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Show us your ways; teach us your paths; we will wait on you all the day long.  You have shown us the power of the tongue brings life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit. We will speak words of life, and be obedient and forgive just as you have forgiven us for our transgressions and sin in our lives.  Our desire is for our ways to be pleasing to you LORD, so that you make even our enemies live at peace with us. Your daughters will seek to attain; better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.  We know in our heart we may plan our course, but only you LORD determine our steps. When the king speaks with divine wisdom; he must never judge unfairly. We will be faithful to pray for our leaders and those in authority in the government and in our work place so that your righteousness reigns in all things.  Your daughters will show integrity by using honest weights and measures. Your word declares that honest scales and balances are from you LORD; all the weights in the bag are of your making.  Thank you Father for you glory among us.  Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness.  May we continually pray for your righteousness to reign through our nation.  Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth. May we not speak reckless words that pierce like a sword; our desire is for us to speak the truth in your love Father.  A king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will appease it.  Your daughters will speak good words because a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. We will not cause or stir up anger.  We will cast our burdens on you because you care for us.  Thank you for meeting our every need according to your glorious riches through Christ.  In Christ name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
