God’s Word – Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.  Proverbs 12:1

Proverbs 12 – Love Discipline and you will be wiser

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for your unfailing love, grace and mercy upon us.  We love you Lord, because you first loved us. Your awesome presence sustains us through the power of Christ in us.  Thank you for loving us so much that you sacrificed your one and only son Jesus Christ.  May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable to you… We will show love and forgiveness toward others, as you have shown us.  Thank you Father, for your forgiveness.  Your daughters will submit and love discipline- Your daughters will seek and love knowledge,  because your word states that who ever hates correction is stupid.  Your daughter will seek your goodness so she may obtain favor from you.    LORD we know you condemn a crafty man.   No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.  We will seek your righteousness through your word of truth.  Your word will be the foundation of our faith, so we will stand firm in the faith.  Thank you Lord!   A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.  We will seek to be a wife of noble character; a Proverbs 31 woman.  The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.  We will seek the counsel of God our Father and through the counsel of the Bible.   The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.  May the words of our mouth be pleasing and acceptable to you.   We will speak words of wisdom because they bring healing. Thank you for your  protection over us and our households. In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Love in Christ,

Jennifer Pettiford

The Battle is Beyond Words…
God’s Word: The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18

Wisdom Shared:
How often do you find yourself … saying something that did not come off as you initially intended, for the good in the name of helping. Better yet, how about not agreeing to disagree with love and respect. The power of our words has a greater impact than we realize … Good words or bad words have an impact, for the greater good or for tearing one another down.

Ponder This: Are your words empowering or discouraging?
Think about the last time you disagreed with your spouse; child; family or co-worker –
Proverbs 12:18 States:
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

  • Are your words piercing … to the point it leads to brokenness?
  • Are your words healing … that shows justice, mercy and love?

Hurt People:

Hurt people , hurt people, they can come off as prideful, abrasive and super critical. They can offer up their thoughts and unsolicited words but do not receive the backlash that can occur as a result. I personally had to cut my time with those people in my life that use their words like daggers coming at me.   The sad part in some cases they are unaware of their bad behavior. Relationships are complex sometimes even difficult, adding emotional reactions brings forth a despairing mind set. Not only is the relationship doomed so is the esteem of the individual received by the offender.

Beyond the Battle of Words
Power of Positive Words … Brings Life!
Think on These Things – You will Speak These Things:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your wise word that empower us to speak in love…  Place a guard over the door of our lips so that we could speak your words of encouragement and praise.Thank you for the advance answer to this prayer. In Jesus name we pray… Amen!

God’s Word: Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Proverbs 4:4

Wisdom Shared: We cannot allow our hard circumstances define us … Instead we must take a personal inventory and ask God for wisdom, direction along with strength. Yes beloved, God is faithful to direct our paths. Stand tall be of “Good Courage” and “Good Cheer” the Lord is near… So therefore do not fear, he will direct your paths. The Lord is faithful to reveal the truths that give us freedom through Christ that gives us strength.

Hard Times are Lessons:

Hard Times will come into our life …it is after all part of life. So do not strife with those closest to you. Do not dismiss, or make demeaning remarks, do not allow any bitter root sprout up within and defile many. When emotions control us it only leads to disparity. Emotions out of control bring forth: Anger, rage, resentment,
depression, oppression and worst of all pride. These traits turn into bitterness, and bitterness makes a firm foundation for a hard heart.

Beloved, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline …the Lord disciplines those he loves. Be mindful in all you do and follow the commands of the word of God; it sets an example to all looking on and know that you belong to Christ. The word commands us; Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the wisdom of your word. May we persevere in all circumstances, being an encouragement to
those looking on at our lives. Make us more like you… Give us the revelations we need to be more loving and
honorable to you, in all we do. In Christ name we pray…. Amen!
