God’s Word – “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. ” Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. Proverbs 30:5;6

Encouragement Shared: As I was reading my devotion was prompted to return to the Proverbs for illumination and direction of God’s Mighty word of truth. It is in those times we grow in our faith through all the seasons of life. A challenge to change through the power of God’s word written on the tablet of our hearts. May you grow in God’s beauty and wisdom as you seek him through this journey the Proverbs.

Proverbs 30 –
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Hear our cry, O God; listen to our prayer. From the ends of the earth we call to you, we call as our heart grows faint; lead us to the rock that is higher than us. For you have been our refuge, a strong tower against the foe. Your daughters long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. For you have heard our vows, O God; you have given your daughters the heritage of those who fear your name. Thank you Father for your everlasting love that endures all things. Thank you for your word of truth that stands firm and will never fade away. Thank you for the word that became flesh, Jesus Christ that died for us. We ask for your protection over us and our households. We ask for wisdom over the words of our mouth, and the meditation of our heart let them be acceptable to you. You are our rock and redeemer; Thank you for the forgiveness of our wickedness and sins. Let not evil or wickedness turn us away from you and rule over us.

Guide us through your word of truth so that we may see the beauty of your Holiness in you and in your word. We will love our neighbor as our self; we will act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before you. We desire to love with actions and truth-your word is truth. We will love deeply and forgive others that sin against us so that no bitter spring up and defiles many. Your word teaches “The leech has two daughters. ‘Give! Give!’ they cry. Let us not be like a leech that is draining and stinging. “There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, ‘Enough!’: the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says, ‘Enough!’ Let us meditate on your law; day and night so that we would not sin against you. “The eye that mocks a father, that scorns obedience to a mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures. We will honor our mother and father so that our days will be long…This is the first commandment with a promise. We thank you for the wisdom of your word that makes us clean with the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit within us. We will seek your word daily and in your word we will put our hope. Thank you for the answer to each prayer we put before you. Thank you for the victories you bring as you continue to bless and establish the works of your hands. In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

God’s Word: The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18

Encouragement Shared: We can be reckless with our words even without intention to pierce. Regardless of the intent, what are we to do when someone pierces with their words. Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions. Proverbs 18:2 Sadly, if those individuals are speaking the truth without love honestly all one can do is pray. Pray for your heart not to grow resentful, pray for God’s revelation to awaken them to the true depth of God’s love. And wait for the Lord to work in us and also trust and fully know that God is in control.

Sadly, I find myself so often on the side that often receives the cynicism and criticalness as oppose to the encouragement with optimism. Early in my journey of faith, I made the Proverbs a part of my daily devotional. It is through the wisdoms of the word spoken in the Proverbs that has added to my learning on a constant basis. And my prayer and desire is to be that person that brings wisdom through encouragement from God’s word. Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket. Proverbs 25:11 When I read that roverb years ago my prayer and desire was to be that person with God’s timely word. Thank you Lord for the revelation of your word.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Help us to forgive and forsake those feelings of brokenness … along with the desire to follow my flesh … let your will be done in us. Let us live by the directives of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Father, In Jesus name… Amen!

God’s Word: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Luke 17:11-19The Message (MSG)

It happened that as he made his way toward Jerusalem, he crossed over the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten men, all lepers, met him. They kept their distance but raised their voices, calling out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

Taking a good look at them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”

They went, and while still on their way, became clean. One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at Jesus’ feet, so grateful. He couldn’t thank him enough—and he was a Samaritan.

Jesus said, “Were not ten healed? Where are the nine? Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?” Then he said to him, “Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you.”

Encouragement Shared: As I personally consider this area of scripture … I have to do a heart check on my very own wicked self-centered heart. There have been times that I have done kind acts out of selfish needs that are motivated by my very own selfishness and not the glory of the Father. In fact in my mind my role: A people pleaser. I would go to great lengths to do for others not in love but because I wanted to win approval.

Then there are those circumstances that are even more pitiful doing kindnesses to gain something in return. Like for example: Doing something special for a spouse or a grown child. Then using that special kindness as weapon for manipulation. When the spirit prompts me to act, there is no thanks needed. It is done for the glory of God. And I if no thanks is given, we can rest assuredly in the peace of God, because he provided the opportunity to give in love and good deeds through the power of Christ in us.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Equip us for the call; let our acts of love shine through us only to show your glory and love. May we rest in the confidence as your word states; Every good and perfect gift is from above. We thank you for your empowerment to love one another deeply through Christ that gives us strength. In Jesus name we pray … Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,
