God’s Word: Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11

Encouragement Shared:
The Factor is LOVE: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 In the fall of 2005 South Florida was hit with record breaking named storms and hurricanes. In that season we were without electricity for days and even sometimes weeks. It was for an opportunity to grow in wisdom and instruction through God.

Here I am, a single mom with a then tween daughter Jessica and teen son Jonathan… It taught me to be prepared and that God truly does equip us for every good work he calls us to, especially those divine appointments. We had just had dinner at a local pizzeria it was the first time we had hot food in days. After dinner we decided to fill the car up with gas, because working pumps were scarce. As we are on this enormous line, there was a young man working the line asking for money. Now I have my standards and preconceived notions about giving money to street people. I flagged down the young man, and my son Jon said, “Mom, what are you doing?” … I told Jon to be quiet and get me a booklet out of the glove box of my car. My daughter Jessica yelled at her brother, “Jon mommy knows what she is doing!” Truthfully I did not know what I was doing, I just wanted to hear this young man’s story.

Fear Factor through Love:
The young man looked healthy and strong, just having a hard time, he needed money for gas for his car, he was driving a late model Ford, mustang. I asked if he had eaten? And he said, no but that he had eaten that morning and he was okay. Hmmm, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to also open a conversation about Jesus… And the young man told me he was saved, he introduced himself, shared his testimony. He also showed us his cross and told me that Jesus is Lord. He lost his job and with the last storm things really hit bottom. I thought to myself, there for the grace of God go I. So, I gave him a new testament, I shoved $5.00 bill in there, then Jon and I got out the car then gave him our left over pizza pie. He thanked me and the kids, and said he knew God was going to be faithful. By the time we got back in the car, in a blink of an eye he was gone and so was his car. We never even heard the car engine. It was an exciting moment for us and we thank God for that opportunity.

Fear of the Lord is Wisdom:
My “Fear Factor” allowed me and my children to minister to someone in need… It was a lesson: Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:1-2

What is your Fear Factor? …
I pray that today we open up to God, trust completely in Him so that we can be a blessing in thoses divine appointments.
In Jesus name…AMEN!

Verse to Memorize: Hebrews 13:15-16
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

God’s Word – “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Encouragement Shared:
We need to persevere in godly confidence and not shrink back, so we can do the will of God, and receive the promise. The Bible shows us that the children of Israel did not receive the promise; they did not enter the promise land.

When we look at the transformation that occurs in us when we accept Christ as our personal savior our perspective about things; power and position should reflect the new creation in Christ. As we grow in God’s grace that confidence in some seasons seems to dissipate; this can happen very easily if we are not careful. We need to be diligent and watchful, submit, delight and commit to God the Father. We need to stand firm in the faith, being devoted to pray and study the scriptures to apply them to every area of our life. This is preparation for the on going battles on going in the heavenly realms unseen by the human eye. The Bible prepares us so that when the day of evil comes we will not be tempted. The bible also states that there is no temptation that is common to man will over take you, God is faithful and will always provide an escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (Amplified Bible) puts it this way: For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently …

God’s Word: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

Encouragement Shared: Social Media, an opportunity to be salt and light. I know it sounds pretty radical, for me personally it is a platform to share the word of God and to encourage those needing encouragement. More importantly an opportunity to be transparent… In other words, to be me. [LOL!] … Laughing Out Loud!

It was during a face book conversation that inspired me to write the following thoughts regarding – God’s Love…through out every circumstance we experience. I do understand that social media can cause havoc amongst some lives. Then there are the occasions that God uses people and their circumstance to encourage and inspire others. I find myself in the middle of some very interesting conversations and debates at times with some interesting and lovely people. … and sometimes not such lovely people.

My Status read: … life has its ups and downs just know that God is in the midst of all and all he does is absolute perfection. Truly it’s nothing profound, yet I was inspired to post it. It brings to mind Psalm 138 …

My Response in a conversation regarding my status …
Facebook User: [ wrote this reply in regards being perfected by God, means all ups and no downs because we are surrendered and redeemed ] … Beloved I share with you; The truth is the Bible states, “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. Acts 14:22 … In Context Acts 14:21-23

My Response Jennifer Pettiford: [Yes, God is Love ... we love cause he first loved us. It's his Love that truly sustains us. Surrendered or not we do experience hardships through trials, through tragedy, through consequence for sin... Through pruning he loves us so much he unwilling to leaves us as we are.
I think of His Love & His Comfort ... All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7 NLT)]

May the word of God bless your lives as you seek the Father in the scriptures.

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,
