God’s Word: It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. 1Peter 2:15-17

Encouragement Shared: It is so wrong to judge unjustly … Why do we continually find ourselves behaving in a non-honorable way? It is usually one of these – envy, bitterness and the most toxic is PRIDE… Pride is the biggest deceiver.

Sadly, so many in the body live the life of PRIDE that hides and divides. Pride wreaks havoc and destroys people in the crossfire. Pride devises wicked lies …harsh words that curse. I have let go some toxic relationships because of it. And have been released of the bondage of evil reckless words that pierce like a sword. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. James 3:9-10 – That is why we must pray continually…Love deeply from a sincere heart that can only be done through the love of Christ in us. If we don’t love one another … then we are living a lie and the truth is not within us.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Give us the wisdom, the knowledge to discern the sincere heart of love … Teach us to love deeply, and commit all things before you. Put a guard over the door of our lips. Let us not love with just words… let us love in action along with the truths of your word. In Jesus name…Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,

James 3 Taming the Tongue
2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

God’s Word ~ Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you. Psalm 25:20-21

Encouragement Shared: The road to forgiveness is hard a road … however it is a command and necessary.
The words of Christ on forgiveness; For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 Regardless of the wrongs that have been done against us, we must be faithful to our God and forgive. I work with the public and honestly I find that all day long I am saying a prayer for me to forgive people. I have observed so often lately that people have lost the art on social graces … courtesy and respect. Lord knows everyone has something going on, however behaving badly is never acceptable. I also have had my share of verbal assaults with friends that have now become acquaintances’. The sad part for them [friends] is that they are so inclined to say what they think, and confidently believe that there is nothing wrong with how they behave. And yes, they are aware of their behavior because they speak so harshly about others. < I know that I can forgive without remaining in the friendship, the truth is the pride of one's heart is deceiving. The truth is if they are truly seeking the Lord, ...he is faithful to reveal the pride of their heart.

Prayer:Father…Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. Thank you for your love and mercy you display… Father help me to forgive quickly and love mercy as you have loved me.
In Jesus Name…Amen!

Psalm 25

1 In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.
2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.
4 Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, Lord, are good.
8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For the sake of your name, Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.[b]
13 They will spend their days in prosperity,
and their descendants will inherit the land.
14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever on the Lord,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart
and free me from my anguish.
18 Look on my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
19 See how numerous are my enemies
and how fiercely they hate me!
20 Guard my life and rescue me;
do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope, Lord,[c] is in you.
22 Deliver Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!

God’s Word ~ Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10

Encouragement Shared: Today as you move through your day beloved, do not allow the current circumstance dictate your emotions.
Seek the truths of the living word that empower, teach and add wisdom to your entire being. In the midst of our troubles the Lord preserves our life.

This is my prayer today…
Heavenly Father, Teach me to do your will… you are my God … may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. In Jesus name-Amen!

As I think and pray on these words of God I am thinking of my daughter Jessica as she returns to college for the fall semester, it is also a prayer for
her as she continues on the journey of faith to answer the call that God the father has put on her heart to show mercy, healing and love
through our God and Savior Jesus Christ. She called me today during her break and my prayer was a confirmation that God is truly in control, we need
seek his will and follow as he leads and we will walk in the freedom of faith. And not on our emotional dictators; fear, depression, anger, rage malice the list can go
on, and on. When we walk in faith, our steps are directed by God.

As I walk through my day I will keep this word on the top of my thoughts, focus on the things above that matter the most. Not my circumstance, not the hardships, not my disappointments but on the almighty God that gives us the power to live out his will for us through Christ and the Holy Spirit that is in us. Let us move forward with much reverence for Our Lord and King. Let us keep looking up – because our help comes only from the Lord.

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,
Jennifer Pettiford~

Psalm 143
1 Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. 2 Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. 3 The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. 4 So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.
5 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. 6 I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.
7 Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. 8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. 9 Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. 10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. 11 For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. 12 In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.
