God’s Word – Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Encouragement Shared:
I confess my immediate circumstance can sometimes wear me down being a single mom, living on disability, working part-time and feeling sad because bills and money are always on my mind. Its something that I don’t share, but it something that is front and center in my thoughts always. The truth is I lack no good thing, God the Father provides every need according to his glorious riches in Christ. It is only through the glory of God that I can say, the Lord is my shepherd-I shall not want … then there are the times when I want to do something that is out of my financial reach and the discouragement comes in stealing my joy. Then I read a quote by G.H. Morrison “Nine tenths of our unhappiness is selfishness and is an insult cast in the face of God.” I will add to that and say it’s an attitude of ingratitude, which needs to be checke. The reality of this sadly is sin. So the desire to be down hearted about what I do not have needs to become rejoicing for the things I do have. I know that I am not unique to this circumstance it’s a hardship a lot of us are facing in today’s economic climate. God says Call to me and I will answer you… Jeremiah 33:3

Be Thankful:
So I sing a song of thanksgiving and follow what the Lord has to say: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ for you. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 I encourage you to observe those areas that God has provided and blessed you in and do it with much thanksgiving and sing songs of praise: Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel- Shall come thee, Beloved… When we think about the Lord and how he saved us from the schemes of the enemy as this song depicts we can only have thankful hearts not because the calendar says so, because each day of our life He gives us reason to rejoice in his faithfulness – Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us …To give thanks to Your holy name, To triumph in Your praise.” 1 Chronicles 16:34-35

God’s Word – He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:21

Encouragement Shared: As I read Proverbs 21:21 it reminds me of my failed marriage.  The truth is when we look at divorce we must be honest and not say failed marriage.  The truth is for me I failed the marriage.  It was my selfish need to have my way.   My love was not sacrificial, my love was not respectful, my love wanted it’s own way…  Looking back at my relationship I see very clearly my love was not about love at all.  It was about pride and demanding my own way.   The word of God gives us a godly view of what love is; [1 Corinthians 13].  My sisters as you go through your day, pursue righteousness and love it will bring you life, prosperity and honor.  Guard your heart because it is the well spring of life.  My encouragement for today; LOVE your husbands as God has loved you…sacrificially.  Sisters-Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that we will not grow weary and lose heart.  In our struggle against sin, we have not yet resisted to the point of shedding our blood… Hebrews 12:3-4

Jesus shed blood for us and he died on a cross for us on the third day he rose again.  It is through his death, burial and resurrection we have the power of Christ in us when we acknowledge that Jesus is Lord- He is the way, the truth and the life. [John 14:6]. Yes we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength! [Philippians 4:13] Including loving our husbands, flaws and all.

Proverbs 21 Righteousness and Love

Heavenly Father:
You are a marvelous and gracious God!  Your compassion’s they fail not, great is your faithfulness; your mercy endures all things.  You do not treat us as our sins deserve.  We thank you for the written word that you continually write on the tablet on our hearts so that by them we may live and not die.  Thank you for the forgiveness of our sins, we will display mercy and forgiveness toward those who would sin against us.  We know Father the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. Father we know you are in control of every good thing and every bad thing may we lean on you for all that we do in all circumstances. .A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust. Thank you for filling us with your wisdom that creates in us strength through the power of Christ in us.  Your daughters will guard her mouth and her tongue so that we will keep our self from calamity. Your word instructs us that the proud and arrogant man-”Mocker” is his name; they behave with overweening pride.  Your word states you hate pride and arrogance and perverse talk from the lips.  We will guard our heart because it is the wellspring of life.   We will watch our words.  May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable, you are our rock and our redeemer.  Thank you for the all your words that are perfect and flawless. Thank you for your unfailing love that endures all things.  Thank you for the gift of salvation through Christ.  We will commit, submit, and delight in you.  In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

God’s Word: Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid. Psalm 35:2

Encouragement Shared: Are you hard pressed for words in your time of need? I can tell you that in those times the word of God is filled with wisdom and the assurances of God. This Psalm will bring to reality that God’s presence is always there. He is our sun and shield… and so we can walk in confidence, the Lord is our helper. He will never let his righteous fall.
May the word of God richly dwell in our hearts, minds and spirit as we grow in his grace.

Psalm 35

Psalm 35

1 Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take up shield and buckler;
arise and come to my aid.
3 Brandish spear and javelin[a]
against those who pursue me.
Say to my soul,
“I am your salvation.”

4 May those who seek my life
be disgraced and put to shame;
may those who plot my ruin
be turned back in dismay.
5 May they be like chaff before the wind,
with the angel of the Lord driving them away;
6 may their path be dark and slippery,
with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
7 Since they hid their net for me without cause
and without cause dug a pit for me,
8 may ruin overtake them by surprise—
may the net they hid entangle them,
may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
9 Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord
and delight in his salvation.
10 My whole being will exclaim,
“Who is like you, O Lord?
You rescue the poor from those too strong for them,
the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

11 Ruthless witnesses come forward;
they question me on things I know nothing about.
12 They repay me evil for good
and leave my soul forlorn.
13 Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth
and humbled myself with fasting.
When my prayers returned to me unanswered,
14 I went about mourning
as though for my friend or brother.
I bowed my head in grief
as though weeping for my mother.
15 But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee;
attackers gathered against me when I was unaware.
They slandered me without ceasing.
16 Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked[b];
they gnashed their teeth at me.
17 O Lord, how long will you look on?
Rescue my life from their ravages,
my precious life from these lions.
18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly;
among throngs of people I will praise you.

19 Let not those gloat over me
who are my enemies without cause;
let not those who hate me without reason
maliciously wink the eye.
20 They do not speak peaceably,
but devise false accusations
against those who live quietly in the land.
21 They gape at me and say, “Aha! Aha!
With our own eyes we have seen it.”

22 O Lord, you have seen this; be not silent.
Do not be far from me, O Lord.
23 Awake, and rise to my defense!
Contend for me, my God and Lord.
24 Vindicate me in your righteousness, O Lord my God;
do not let them gloat over me.
25 Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!”
or say, “We have swallowed him up.”

26 May all who gloat over my distress
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over me
be clothed with shame and disgrace.
27 May those who delight in my vindication
shout for joy and gladness;
may they always say, “The Lord be exalted,
who delights in the well-being of his servant.”
28 My tongue will speak of your righteousness
and of your praises all day long.
