God’s Word – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Encouragement Shared:
Sisters be strong – Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be [women] of courage; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 God’s word gives us directives to stand firm in the good fight for the faith. We are living in the end times love is voided out of the hearts of many. … but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:12 The word of God directs us to be self-controlled and alert,our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Yes, sisters the enemy is looking to devour our family through our marriages. That is exactly why we need to look to Jesus so that we can stand firm through God the Father. Resist him [the enemy], standing firm in the faith, because we know that your brothers [ & sisters] throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called has called us to his eternal glory in Christ, after we have suffered a little while, will himself restore us and make us strong, firm and steadfast. 1Peter 5:8-10 We will keep our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Psalm 90 A Prayer for Our Husband to Stand Firm
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your unfailing love you have given me through Christ Jesus… I ask for your forgiveness of my sins, for they are too many to count. Father that I would show the same mercy and grace toward others that would sin against me, that you would bless them in their time of need. You are sovereign Lord; you set the foundations of the heavens and the earth. I lift up to you my precious husband to you… For you Father will command your angels concerning my husband to guard my husband in all his ways; they will lift my husband up in their hands, so that he will not strike his foot against a stone. My husband will tread upon the lion and the cobra; he will trample the great lion and the serpent …“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him and his household, for he acknowledges my name. My husband he will call upon you Lord, and you will answer him; you will be with him in trouble,
you will deliver him and honor him. With long life you will satisfy him and show him your salvation.”
Thank you Father for your direct answer to my prayers put before you in faith… In your great and holy presence I will praise you and thank you for the victories you give me through the sufferings in life to sustain me through your mighty hand. May I be faithful to the call on my life to grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. May I be faith filled to not only hear the word of truth and promise, but to apply the word of truth to my life for encouragement, comfort, discernment and strength through the power of the Holy Spirit and Christ living in me. Thank you Father in Jesus name I pray…Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Encouragement Shared:

In the midst of our troubles the preserves our life. [Psalm 138] That is God’s promise to us through his infallible word of truth the bible. As we seek the Lord through the intimacy of his word it becomes a foundational position in our personal relationships especially in marriage. Sisters marriage is God’s idea, marriage is a daily act of kindness, patience, not jealous; not boastful or prideful. In God’s strength we can display these attributes. Love in marriage is not behaving rudely or self-seeking. Love in marriage is not anger in the blink of an eye time and time again. Love in marriage is not counting wrong doing or delighting in evil. Love in marriage is joyfully excited with God’s truth. It always protects-trust-hopes and perseveres. Love is constant and does not fade away… Love never fails. So when we look at these biblical truths of love we need to look at our very own flaws casting all our anxieties on God because he cares for us.

Personal Prayer:
Father…Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. Thank you for your love and mercy you display…

Psalm 25
1 To you, O LORD, I lift up My Husband’s soul;
2 in you my husband trust, O God.
Do not let my husband be put to shame,
nor let My Husband enemies triumph over me.
3 No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame
who are treacherous without excuse.
4 Show my husband your ways, O LORD,
teach my husband your paths;
5 guide him in your truth and teach him,
for you are God My Husband‘s Savior,
and My Husband ‘s hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Remember not the sins of My Husband’s youth
and My Husband’s rebellious ways;
according to your love remember my husband,
for you are good, O LORD.
8 Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For the sake of your name, O LORD,
forgive My Husband’s iniquity, though it is great.
12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
13 He will spend his days in prosperity,
and his descendants will inherit the land.
14 The LORD confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My Husband’s eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only he will release My Husband’s feet from the snare.
16 Turn to my husband and be gracious to him,
for he is lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of My Husband’s heart have multiplied;
free him from anguish.
18 Look upon My Husband’s affliction and My Husband’s distress
and take away all My Husband’s sins.
19 See how My Husband enemies have increased
and how fiercely they hate him!
20 Guard My Husband’s life and rescue him;
let him not be put to shame,
for my husband will take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect my husband,
because My Husband’s hope is in you.
22 Redeem Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!
Thank you Father for the answers to all the prayers
before your throne of grace…In Jesus Name I pray…AMEN!

God’s Word – Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:1-2

Introduction to 40 Days of Prayers for our Husbands ~Marriage is a ministry of sacrificial love for one another.

The Challenge: If you are married – lf you are single take the challenge of praying faithfully through God’s word for our marriages and our husbands. Praying God’s Word is effective and removes the influence of our flesh and brings healing… It keeps us accountable to God in an act of worship by praying his powerful word. Praying God’s word allows his will be done and not ours.

God’s word is active and alive – For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:11-13

Psalm 61 Prayer for Our Husband ~
1 Hear your daughter’s cry, O God;
listen to her prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth your daughter will call to you,
she calls as her heart grows faint;
lead your daughter to the rock that is higher than her.
[Our Lord Jesus]
3 For you have been her refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
4 Your daughter will long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5 For you, God, have heard her vows;
you have given her the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life,
his years for many generations.
7 May he be enthroned in his God’s presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
Thank you Father for you are glorious and mighty to save in our troubles, in our trials you bring forth your radiance and power through the power of your word. You have poured in our hearts the joy of your presence and your daughter will not be shaken. You move us from glory to glory – strength to strength through you we relinquish the battles because your word states; the battle is not ours but the battle is yours. Bring us the victory over all troubles, over all our needs. Heal us from the brokenness in our marriages in those vulnerable places that make it hard for us to communicate in respect and in love. Heal us in rearing our children that were gifted to us from you, help to encourage and not exasperate our children. Heal us in our work and work relationships that we would submit to those in authority and those who are over us in the Lord. For those of your daughters that are single keep them drawn in the shadow of your wing and sow in their hearts the continued joy of your salvation along with the promises of your word. We will lift up our heads to you Father because you are the lifter of our heads. In you our hearts rejoice. Jesus is the King of glory – and yes, the king [our husbands] are in King Jesus hand he stirs it like a water course and directs it the way it should go!
Father your daughter will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill her vows day after day.
In Jesus Name… AMEN!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,
Jennifer Pettiford
