FSE019God’s Word…A heart at peace gives life to the body, …Proverbs 14:30

 The Encouragement Shared
Daily devotions in the Proverbs adds wisdom. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
I share not because you do not know or believe I share to make your joy complete.
Joy completes us! We write this to make our joy complete. 1 John 1:4
A few years ago my Mom, Martha Clark shared this wisdom with me, “There are 31 Proverbs one for each day of the month. The Proverbs are practical tools for life, study them as a daily devotional.” I will submit to you it was that powerful statement that illuminated my eyes that continually teaches, it equips me for every good work. I used the proverbs as part of my daily devotions consistently for three years. Each time I read the Proverbs it gives me a different perspective on God’s infinite wisdom, love and grace. It prepares us for every good work he is calling us to do. It speaks to me personally, to my mind and spirit regarding those issues that God is continually refining and redefining within me.  My hope and prayer is; The Proverbs will do the same for anyone who takes the Proverbs Challenge; Proverbs 1 states this.
I am coming close to a third anniversary on this blog site along with my Facebook Group: Praying for Wisdom in God’s Word – Women of God’s Word.  The Proverbs are great words of wisdom to write on the tablet of our hearts.  This June my youngest Jessica will be graduating High School and entering college this fall.  As we move forward in a new season in our lives my desire as daughters of the Most High God – Keep our eyes on Jesus.

My prayer and encouragement for today…May…the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus as you move in this new season of life in Christ.

God’s Word for Children and Parents

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”  Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.  Ephesians 6:1-4

Encouragement Shared: It’s the last week of School here in South Florida and as I was dropping off my daughter Jessica at school, we saw a teen girl in an altercation with a Police Officer.  Jessica and I went to breakfast and so she was a bit late – so I signed her into school and we said our good-byes.  As I was walking to my car I saw the teen girl in hand cuffs yelling at the officer and refusing to give her name.  I began to pray for her to repent, cooperate and release her rebellion.  I began to wonder what is it that brings us to that point of rebellion – It is spiritual depravity that leads us to disobedience.

Godly Parenting: I am a mother of a young adult and one teen…

I will submit to you it is not an easy task in our own strength but in God’s strength it is possible to achieve the goals set by The Almighty…through his unfailing love, grace and mercies that endure forever as stated in His word of truth and hope.  [Read: Psalm 36]  Yes, we can do all things through Him who gives us strength. Philippians 4:13.  Sisters – All things are possible for him who believes Mark 9:23 –

We Have Authority Through Christ:

Mom/Dad/Step-Mom/ Step-Dad/Teachers/Uncle/Aunt – By the authority of his word in your life in Christ it is a living testimony unfolding in the life of the teen that is in your life! For those of us who are parents of teens you know for a fact that your teen is watching, listening, learning and imitating from our living testimony laid before their eyes in silence, well not always in silence

The Good Choice to Obey:

When my daughter Jessica makes the choice to act in obedience; I know that it is only possible through the word of God sown in her through memorization, bible study and more importantly her reverence and love for Christ.  Beloved saints it is only through the work of the Lord hallelujah! I was prompted to share prayer along with scriptures to encourage all who have teens in their life.  The Bible states; Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings [Raising a Teenager].  1Peter 4:9

I thank you Father for the perfect flawless word you sow in our hearts, minds, souls and spirit.  To strengthen us, equip us, protect us and guide us according to your word… May my words be few and your words always be many. Forgive me for out of my mouth comes forth sin. That I will forgive those whom sin against me and that you would bless them.  I lift up to you each soul reading this prayer. Fill your saints to overflowing with joy, with peace that surpasses all understanding… That your chosen ones would be thankful and watchful in all their prayers. We will seek you Father diligently and constantly pray for one another.  Lord, count us worthy of your calling, and that by your power you may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by each heart reading this in their faith.  I will continue to pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in all the saints in the body of Christ, and those whom do not know him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ, In Jesus Precious name I pray… AMEN!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Love in Christ,

Jennifer Pettiford

God’s Promise Isaiah 43:5;6  Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.  I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth-
To Each Teen in hard circumstance; God knows each of you by name-

See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Isaiah 49:15-17 (New King James Version)

Promise   Isaiah 30:18-21 New Living Translation

Blessings for the Lord’s People

18 So the Lord must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the Lord is a faithful God.
Blessed are those who wait for his help. 19 O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem,
      you will weep no more.
He will be gracious if you ask for help.
He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.
20 Though the Lord gave you adversity for food
      and suffering for drink,
he will still be with you to teach you.
You will see your teacher with your own eyes.
21 Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
Â“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.

Mercy Isaiah 32:17-18 New Living Translation
17 And this righteousness will bring peace.
Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.
18 My people will live in safety, quietly at home.
      They will be at rest.

Strength Isaiah 32:2 New Living Translation
2 Each one will be like a shelter from the wind
and a refuge from the storm,
like streams of water in the desert
and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land.

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

In Christ Love,  Jennifer Pettiford
