Power of God’s Word in Prayer- God’s word is our greatest weapon we have against the enemy.
Jesus gives us a wonderful example of this in Matthew 4 – The Temptation in The Wilderness…
We are to put on The Full Armor of God each day.  Begining the first day of the month we will be praying for wisdom through the Proverbs.  Proverbs Chapter 1 gives an overview for the purpose and application of the godly wisdom of The book of Proverbs.  As we are nearing the end of the year it will be a blessing to visit the wisdom of God’s word in Proverbs to equip and empower us for every good word God has called us to.

Proverbs 1
Prologue: Purpose and Theme
 1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
 2 for attaining wisdom and discipline;
       for understanding words of insight;

 3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
       doing what is right and just and fair;

 4 for giving prudence to the simple,
       knowledge and discretion to the young-

 5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
       and let the discerning get guidance-

 6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
       the sayings and riddles of the wise.

 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
       but fools [a] despise wisdom and discipline.

Exhortations to Embrace Wisdom
Warning Against Enticement
 8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
       and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
 9 They will be a garland to grace your head
       and a chain to adorn your neck.

 10 My son, if sinners entice you,
       do not give in to them.

 11 If they say, “Come along with us;
       let’s lie in wait for someone’s blood,
       let’s waylay some harmless soul;

 12 let’s swallow them alive, like the grave, [b]
       and whole, like those who go down to the pit;

 13 we will get all sorts of valuable things
       and fill our houses with plunder;

 14 throw in your lot with us,
       and we will share a common purse”-

 15 my son, do not go along with them,
       do not set foot on their paths;

 16 for their feet rush into sin,
       they are swift to shed blood.

 17 How useless to spread a net
       in full view of all the birds!

 18 These men lie in wait for their own blood;
       they waylay only themselves!

 19 Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain;
       it takes away the lives of those who get it.

Warning Against Rejecting Wisdom
 20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
       she raises her voice in the public squares;
 21 at the head of the noisy streets [c] she cries out,
       in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

 22 “How long will you simple ones [d] love your simple ways?
       How long will mockers delight in mockery
       and fools hate knowledge?

 23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
       I would have poured out my heart to you
       and made my thoughts known to you.

 24 But since you rejected me when I called
       and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

 25 since you ignored all my advice
       and would not accept my rebuke,

 26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
       I will mock when calamity overtakes you-

 27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
       when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
       when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

 28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
       they will look for me but will not find me.

 29 Since they hated knowledge
       and did not choose to fear the LORD,

 30 since they would not accept my advice
       and spurned my rebuke,

 31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
       and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.

 32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
       and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

 33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
       and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

God’s Word

The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail
Isaiah 58:11

Encouragement Shared:

My Dearest Sisters in Christ,  There are seasons in our life that God puts us through the fiery furnace of affliction- Isaiah 48:10 -See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction… It seems like you are in a dry and weary land.  If we are faithful to seek the Lord through his word, it is in those times we are refined and redefined as daughters of the Most High God!  It becomes so overwhelming; the encouragement  is not to be in a hurry for the furnace of affliction to move quickly… It’s all God’s timing; when we are so intent in moving quickly to the other side we miss the precious lesson that God has for us in that season.  His will be done; His plan has purpose; His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path that leads the way we are to go. The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock, my Savior! 2 Samuel 22:47- Let the word of God richly dwell in you!  Blessings to you sisters…

Prayer Psalm 27

 The LORD is Your daughter’s  light and her salvation—
       whom shall Your daughter fear?
       The LORD is the stronghold of Your daughter’s life—
       of whom shall she be afraid?
 When evil men advance against Your daughter
       to devour her flesh,
       when her enemies and her foes attack me,
       they will stumble and fall.
 Though an army besiege Your daughter,
       her heart will not fear;
       though war break out against Your daughter,
       even then will Your daughter be confident.
 One thing Your daughter asks of the LORD,
       this is what she seeks:
       that she may dwell in the house of the LORD
       all the days of her life,
       to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
       and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
       he will keep Your daughter safe in his dwelling;
       he will hide Your daughter in the shelter of his tabernacle
       and set her high upon a rock.
Then her head will be exalted
       above the enemies who surround Your daughter;
       at his tabernacle will she sacrifice with shouts of joy;
       Your daughter will sing and make music to the LORD.
 Hear Your daughter’s voice when she calls you, O LORD;
       be merciful to Your daughter and answer her.
 Your daughter’s heart says of you, “Seek his [b] face!”
       Your face, LORD, she will seek.
Do not hide your face from Your daughter,
       do not turn your servant away in anger;
       you have been her helper.
       Do not reject Your daughter or forsake her,
       O God my Savior.
 Though Your daughter’s father and mother forsake her,
       You LORD will receive Your daughter .
 Teach her your way, O LORD;
       lead her in a straight path
       because of Olg’s oppressors.
 Do not turn Your daughter over to the desire of her foes,
       for false witnesses rise up against her,
       breathing out violence.
Your daughter is still confident of this:
       She will see the goodness of the LORD
       in the land of the living.
Your daughter will – Wait for the LORD;
       be strong and take heart
       and wait for the LORD.

God’s Promise
Many, O LORD my God,
       are the wonders you have done.
       The things you planned for us
       no one can recount to you;
       were I to speak and tell of them,
       they would be too many to declare. Psalm 40:5

Love is Patient – Love is Kind – God is LOVE… We love because he first loved us. [1John 4]

Encouragement Shared:
As I woke up on this beautiful South Florida morning, I woke up with an excitement and a song in my heart because of the goodness of Lord.  His mercy endures forever, if you read Psalm 146 those exact words are reiterated throughout the Psalm.  Today as I started my day patience is the at the top of my mind.  I am working with the children at our church to write the Fruits of The Spirit on their hearts and this week we are visiting patience.  Patience is a godly virtue and we need to cultivate that mind set as daughters of the King.  Psalm 40 came to me to share today; Father, I waited patiently for you, you turned your ear to my cry.  God the Father is hears our cry, so regardless of our outward circumstance rest assure that He is in the midst of the circumstance with us. He is merciful and just and will not relent. During the midst of our troubles yes he preserves our lives. That is exciting!   Psalm 34 states; those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered in shame. The encouragement for today yes we are radiant, we will keep our eye on the Prize [Jesus]; the author and the finisher of our faith, through the joy set before him he was scorned and took our shame when he suffered and died on the cross on Calvary.   So as are we moving through our daily living through a hardship; trial or discipline for sin; consider our Lord and Savior Jesus who endured much opposition from sinful men so that we would not grow weary or lose heart. The thought that comes to mind – we have not suffered or resisted sin to the point where we have shed blood. [Hebrews 12]  No beloved sisters we have not suffered as Jesus suffered for us. So we sing songs of joy and thanksgiving for the many wonders God has done for us… And we do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
