…giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:12

Encouragement Shared:

As I have been going through the day…
I become excited at the thought that I share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
This morning as I was preparing for the events of the day, on the radio I heard we have been called to
preach the good news to the poor, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and give
light to the prisoners of darkness and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
When ever I read or hear Isaiah 61 I think of my friend Christa, she is an inspiration because she is anointed woman of God, that has been born
into a family of missionaries.  Each year she goes to Haiti and does an outreach for the children of Haiti.
She is answering the call for the kingdom to minister to the hearts of the poor and needy, to reach out to those living in darkness and to proclaim
the favor of the Lord.

We may not be in the mission field like my friend Christa, however each day we step out of our homes
we have the very same oppourtunity to comfort those who mourn, to preach the good news to the needy and poor,
to set the captives free and release the prisoners of darkness because we have the living hope dwelling in us.
The anchor to our souls Jesus Christ.
Each day gives us the oppourtunity to be ready for those divine appointments,
to give the good news, to comfort those who mourn, to bestow a crown of beauty for
ashes; strength for fear, gladness for mourning and peace for despair.
Just like Jesus did for us when we accepted him into our hearts and invited him into our life.
Isaiah calls it: The Year of the Lord’s Favor…

Heavenly Father,
May we be ready and willing to answer the call for those divine appointments
to preach the good news, and comfort all those who mourn.
That your glory would rest upon us… In Christ name we pray…Amen!

Encouragement Shared:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV… This brings to mind 2 Corinthians 10- We have been given power and authority in Christ to grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding to know his will for our lives. So we should not fear, be dismayed God is with us and will strengthen us and up hold us with his righteous right hand.  I see too often that we blame the enemy for everything that goes wrong in our lives instead we must view it as an opportunity to grow in faith; to persevere in order for God to grow our character.  Yes, we have an enemy that does wishes to kill, devour and destroy us.  We must stand firm on the word of truth, keep our eyes on the faith, the Bible states the enemy will flee. Our Faith is determined by the way we react in times of trouble. It becomes so easy to allow emotions to take control creating a platform to distort the voice of the Lord speaking to us through the power of his word.  We fall into that depression that keeps our eyes and focus on self instead of the cross.  Yes God the Father created us as emotional beings, but emotions out of control cause commotion in our lives. Not that we are unaware, but we sometimes fall into that temptation of isolation that keeps us from receiving God’s Glory and feeling defeated in our circumstance.  God is the strength of our heart dear sisters in Christ;  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my [your] heart.  Psalm 73:26 James 1 reminds us to consider our trials as joy, maturing to completion-  [James 1:2;3;4]  [ Paul states the same; Romans 5:1-5]  God has said,    “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrew 13:5-8

Heavenly Father,
May our whole spirit and minds be strengthen as we grow during our trials.
Father we ask you to reveal the lessons you desire for us to learn for the character building you are forming in and through us.

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance
Love in Christ,

God’s Word

The Proverbs state; Fear of man always proves to be a snare.

Fear is one of those sins that cause havoc and destruction in life of a Christian; Bottom line fear is sin…

Fear is usually a component of what keeps us from being confident, causes us to act on emotion and not on the word of truth as breathed out by God the Father.

The cause and effect of fear: anxiety- It deceives through the lies that plague our thoughts it is a platform of lies; bad choices and consequences… I call it lies and consequences; we buy the lie, react to lie and suffer consequences based on a lie and not the word of truth as told by God.  As a child of the “Most High” we must consider the word of God as a mirror of our souls in order to have understanding, clarity and true perspective of our awesome and Holy God, where we are at and allow God to prune those bad roots.

Jesus speaks of this in the [John Chapter 15 recommended reading] I am the vine you are the branches. John 15:5

Fear has a consequence and it paralyzes us from hearing God through the power of His word. It deviates us from a kingdom minded focus.  The focus then becomes focus on self…Jesus stated not my will be done but yours be done:”Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42
