God’s Word – Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. 147:5Encouragement Shared:

As I think about Psalm 147 I was prompted to share today the vision and promise of this Psalm. He builds us up and he draws those far from him near. This year as I observe this season of Advent there is a different expectation. It’s not about stress over gifts to buy or places to go. It’s not about family expectations or perceptions, as I watch the morning news shows each day is filled with stress reducers- family dysfunctions during the holidays, menu planning, wines and that absolutely perfect gift. The perfect gift is waiting and it doesn’t need wrapping. I had to lose everything to understand that. I recall vividly a morning in December 2000 I sat in the waiting room of the dialysis center I just received treatment at. Most times I waited over an hour for a ride home; I was exhausted, hungry and yes extremely depressed. I wanted to turn the clock back to a normal life. As I sat there across from me were two women very nicely dressed in business attire and rolling cases. They looked like very successful pharmaceutical representatives. I couldn’t help but be distracted by their conversation; after all they were less than three feet away. I was invisible to them they were speaking as though I wasn’t there. They were exchanging plans for the holidays and the gift request they made to their husband. One of them was going on and on about a very expensive gold Rolex watch she had always wanted and how long she has been waiting for it like it was a burden. She said he better get me that watch or else he is going to be in big trouble.

God Heals the Brokenhearted:
My whole perspective change at that moment, there was a time in my life that I would have said those very same things. I once desired the material things as oppose to the spiritual things in life. I felt really convicted of that woman’s desire once having been my burden. I once wore expensive suits to work, drove in an expensive car and scolded my then husband for not getting that gift I wanted. My perspective and expectation was unrealistic, unfair and selfish. I felt like my illness was source of my sinful, willful, depression and despicable behavior. My illness revealed through the word of God I was broken and depressed. The Bible states: He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 –

Jesus the Ultimate Gift:That Christmas turned out to be the beginning of journey to Jesus. A journey to seek him with all my heart and soul… A journey to healing through the power of his word God’s all powerful word. The gift an intangible gift: Salvation through Christ! That Christmas although I was in much pain I was blessed by my family along with so many people through encouragement and He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:20 - It was the word that brought me healing, restoration with a new perspective on life. The gift that is filled with purpose and a new life is Christ. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. Psalm 147:5-6 I am thankful for God's mighty power through the ultimate gift of Christ. My prayer is that you would also be blessed by that gift of promise that will never perish or fade.

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

God’s Word – He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. Luke 1:51

Encouragement Shared:
When Mary was given the news that she was going to be the mother of Jesus, she dissplayed a submissive heart- humility and an attitude of graditude. Mary was going to be facing a lot of trials along the way. She handled every circumstance with grace and humility for a very young woman. She leaned on her faith, her trust and more importanly the unfailing love of God the Father. There is a lot to learn from her outward display of love, a heart willing to surrender to God’s will and not her will. It has become a a prayer for my very own life. Is it my will or God’s will? Is it about mercy, grace and service or me my self and I? Is about love in a sacrificial way or love according to my way? Yes, it comes down to acting justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God. [Micah 6:8]

Jesus The Real Reason:
As I observe the media it’s not popular to discuss the real reason for the season.
It’s not about the gifts we give or recieve that will be long forgotten. It is about
the greatest gift the gift of life in Christ. This season gives me the opportunity
to seek the Lord and seek his strength and continually seek his face. It is also an opportunity
to shine our light and share the good news – the gift of eternal life.
Let us glorify God – let our soul rejoice in the marvelous things he continually does with a
greatful heart filled with justice, mercy and love.

Mercy, peace and love yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,

Mary’s Song
46 And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55 to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers.”

God’s Word – Bless the LORD, my soul, and forget not his benefits who forgives all our sins and heals all our disease, who redeems our life from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion. Psalm 103:2-4

Encouragement Shared:
We must remember the benefits of the Father’s word-we will/don’t lose heart. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:15-17

Jesus’ Word Has Power:
Put on your audio bible in the quietness of the house especially when you are going about your daily chores. The word of God will be written on the tablet of your heart. The word of God will sustain you and equip you for every good work in Christ. Download some good worship music to listen to during your morning routines it’s pretty difficult to be downcast while listening to and worshiping the Lord in song. Remember Beloved, if God is for you who can be against you!

Put on God’s Spiritual Armor:
Read Ephesians 6:10-18 in the quiet time… my quiet time is in the morning and before bed for you it may be a different time. I went through many tough seasons that the Holy Spirit lead me to pray this area of scripture. Remember Beloved our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

Memory Verses
Psalm 107:19-21

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Prayer: The Armor of God
Heavenly Father,
Equip us to be strong in you Lord and in your mighty power. Let us be diligent to: Put on the full armor of God, so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore we will put on the full armor of yours God, so that when the day of evil comes, we may be able to stand our ground, and after we have done everything, to stand. We will stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around our waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, we can be alert and always keep on praying for all of the Lord’s people. Thank you for your word Father that sustains us-equips us for every good work you call us to. Thank for the advance answer to all the prayers placed on your throne of grace. In Jesus name we pray AMEN!
