God’s Word: The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4

Encouragement Shared: A good word cheers a person up… But a harsh word breaks the spirit. I can remember early in my journey of faith, my prayer became: Dear Father, let me be that women with a timely word. A word that is like apples of gold set in silver. Yes, I am of the mind set, that reckless words pierce like a sword, but the word of the wise brings healing.

31 Days in Proverbs ~

Heavenly Father
Help to be aware of our words, so that we can focus on you. Let us speak healing words … Not words that crush a spirit.
In Christ Name… Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

Proverbs 15 New International Version (NIV)
15 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
5 A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.
6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure,
but the income of the wicked brings ruin.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
but the hearts of fools are not upright.
8 The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked,
but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked,
but he loves those who pursue righteousness.
10 Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
the one who hates correction will die.
11 Death and Destruction[a] lie open before the LORD—
how much more do human hearts!
12 Mockers resent correction,
so they avoid the wise.
13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
but heartache crushes the spirit.
14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge,
but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.
16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD
than great wealth with turmoil.
17 Better a small serving of vegetables with love
than a fattened calf with hatred.
18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict,
but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.
19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,
but the path of the upright is a highway.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish man despises his mother.
21 Folly brings joy to one who has no sense,
but whoever has understanding keeps a straight course.
22 Plans fail for lack of counsel,
but with many advisers they succeed.
23 A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word!
24 The path of life leads upward for the prudent
to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead.
25 The LORD tears down the house of the proud,
but he sets the widow’s boundary stones in place.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked,
but gracious words are pure in his sight.
27 The greedy bring ruin to their households,
but the one who hates bribes will live.
28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers,
but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.
31 Whoever heeds life-giving correction
will be at home among the wise.
32 Those who disregard discipline despise themselves,
but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.
33 Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD,
and humility comes before honor

God’s Word – He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. Proverbs 10:17

Heavenly Father,
Your daughters will praise you, O LORD, with all our heart; we will tell of all your wonders. we will be glad and rejoice in your Holy name; we will sing praise to your name, O Most High. Our enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. For you have upheld our right and our cause;
you have sat on your throne, judging righteously. Father we thank you for your righteousness…You LORD reign forever; you have established your throne for judgment. You Lord will judge the world in righteousness; you will govern the peoples with justice. Father we thank you for providing Christ to die for us; thank you forgiving us. Let love and faithfulness never leave us bind them on the tablet of our heart so that we may show justice, mercy and love through humility. Let us forgive others as you have forgiven us… You LORD are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those saints in the body of Christ who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. We will be wise women that store up knowledge; your word teaches us the mouth of a fool invites ruin. Let us not fall prey to the behaviors and characteristics of the fool. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor. Give us our daily bread Lord, keep falsehood and lies far from your daughters; give us neither poverty nor riches, we thank you for your provision in all areas of our lives. The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment. Help us by your Holy Spirit to remain strong and obedient in order that we may live according to your commands stored up within our hearts. You word instructs us; those who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. We will hide your Holy Word the Bible in our hearts, so that we would not sin against you. We will confess our sins so that we may be healed, as it is written: Those who conceal their hatred have lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool. The tongue of the wise brings healing, we will use wise words and healing words; we will not pour out lies, the lying tongue hates those whom it lies to. We will watch our words when we speak, we know when words are many, sin is not absent, we will be like those who hold their tongue and display wisdom. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. Thank you for your word of truth that fills us to overflowing through your faithful love. Thank you for your protection over us, our household and our family. May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be acceptable you are our rock and redeemer. In Christ name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

God’s Word – He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:21

Encouragement Shared: As I read Proverbs 21:21 it reminds me of my failed marriage.  The truth is when we look at divorce we must be honest and not say failed marriage.  The truth is for me I failed the marriage.  It was my selfish need to have my way.   My love was not sacrificial, my love was not respectful, my love wanted it’s own way…  Looking back at my relationship I see very clearly my love was not about love at all.  It was about pride and demanding my own way.   The word of God gives us a godly view of what love is; [1 Corinthians 13].  My sisters as you go through your day, pursue righteousness and love it will bring you life, prosperity and honor.  Guard your heart because it is the well spring of life.  My encouragement for today; LOVE your husbands as God has loved you…sacrificially.  Sisters-Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that we will not grow weary and lose heart.  In our struggle against sin, we have not yet resisted to the point of shedding our blood… Hebrews 12:3-4

Jesus shed blood for us and he died on a cross for us on the third day he rose again.  It is through his death, burial and resurrection we have the power of Christ in us when we acknowledge that Jesus is Lord- He is the way, the truth and the life. [John 14:6]. Yes we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength! [Philippians 4:13] Including loving our husbands, flaws and all.

Proverbs 21 Righteousness and Love

Heavenly Father:
You are a marvelous and gracious God!  Your compassion’s they fail not, great is your faithfulness; your mercy endures all things.  You do not treat us as our sins deserve.  We thank you for the written word that you continually write on the tablet on our hearts so that by them we may live and not die.  Thank you for the forgiveness of our sins, we will display mercy and forgiveness toward those who would sin against us.  We know Father the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. Father we know you are in control of every good thing and every bad thing may we lean on you for all that we do in all circumstances. .A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust. Thank you for filling us with your wisdom that creates in us strength through the power of Christ in us.  Your daughters will guard her mouth and her tongue so that we will keep our self from calamity. Your word instructs us that the proud and arrogant man-”Mocker” is his name; they behave with overweening pride.  Your word states you hate pride and arrogance and perverse talk from the lips.  We will guard our heart because it is the wellspring of life.   We will watch our words.  May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable, you are our rock and our redeemer.  Thank you for the all your words that are perfect and flawless. Thank you for your unfailing love that endures all things.  Thank you for the gift of salvation through Christ.  We will commit, submit, and delight in you.  In Jesus name we pray…Amen!
