The Wise – their words are guided by their wise heart and promote instruction

Proverbs 16

Heavenly Father,

Your daughters will praise you LORD, you are good; Yes, we will sing praise to your Holy name, for that is pleasant. You LORD have chosen us to be your own … We know that you LORD are great, that our Lord is greater than all gods.  Thank you Father for your mighty works; thank you for your love and your faithfulness; You LORD do whatever pleases you, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. You make clouds rise from the ends of the earth; you send lightning with the rain and bring out the wind from your storehouses…We rejoice in your righteous works that endures all things… We thank you Father for the forgiveness of our transgressions and sins.  We will forgive others as you have forgiven us. We will seek the whole counsel of your word to increase our faith and to attain godly wisdom.  The word instructs:  A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. Help us to speak pleasant words because they are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Let us not forget our righteousness is only through Christ.   We thank you for the gift of Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of your throne We will keep to remembrances Jesus: who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that  we would not grow weary or lose heart. Thank you for grace and glory in each of our lives.  We will rejoice in all the victories you bring in our lives, our husbands, our children and in future generations.  In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

God’s Word – Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning. Proverbs 9:9

Proverbs 9 Righteous- Teach a righteous man and he add to his learning.

Wisdom Shared: I have a good friend, Marlene Madera … she would say quite often; “Youth is wasted on the youth.” and it would always stir me up inside. As I have gotten older I have come to an understanding of exactly what she meant by that. As I reflect on those words and my very own life.  I think about the wisdom of the aged. I think about the wisdom of God’s word, and how priceless they are. Wisdom, saves lives; it helps us to be better people; and most definitely enriches the lives of our children to become well rounded adults with  love, faith and  empathy through the love of Christ in them.

Heavenly Father,
You are glory and might!  We love you Lord because in you there is no darkness.  Your word is flawless, and not burdensome.  In your word we see the glory of your presence.  We feel your comfort and your faithful love that endure all things.  Thank you for your gift of salvation through Christ.  Your children will commit, delight and trust in you and your word. We will love one another deeply and forgive those who sin against us from a pure heart.  Father your word encourages us to leave our foolish ways and we will live; to walk in the way of understanding. We will follow your direction leave our foolish ways and walk in understanding.  We will not correct a mocker to invite insult; we will not rebuke a wicked man so that it will not incur abuse. Your children will not rebuke a mocker because they will hate us; instead-rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Instruct a wise man and they will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to their learning. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. To fear you Father, is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of your Holiness is understanding.  We know through you our days will be many, and years will be added to our life.  If your daughters are wise, your wisdom will reward us; if we behave as a mocker, we alone will suffer.”   The woman Folly is loud; she is undisciplined and without knowledge.  Your sons and daughters will seek you and your wisdom, so that we will not be that man or woman of folly and be loud; we will seek to live a disciplined life through your knowledge. Thank you Lord for your faithful love.  Thank you for your daily provision for your daughters and their families.  We thank you for equipping us for every good work you call us to in Christ name we pray…Amen!

The Battle is Beyond Words…
God’s Word: The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18

Wisdom Shared:
How often do you find yourself … saying something that did not come off as you initially intended, for the good in the name of helping. Better yet, how about not agreeing to disagree with love and respect. The power of our words has a greater impact than we realize … Good words or bad words have an impact, for the greater good or for tearing one another down.

Ponder This: Are your words empowering or discouraging?
Think about the last time you disagreed with your spouse; child; family or co-worker –
Proverbs 12:18 States:
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

  • Are your words piercing … to the point it leads to brokenness?
  • Are your words healing … that shows justice, mercy and love?

Hurt People:

Hurt people , hurt people, they can come off as prideful, abrasive and super critical. They can offer up their thoughts and unsolicited words but do not receive the backlash that can occur as a result. I personally had to cut my time with those people in my life that use their words like daggers coming at me.   The sad part in some cases they are unaware of their bad behavior. Relationships are complex sometimes even difficult, adding emotional reactions brings forth a despairing mind set. Not only is the relationship doomed so is the esteem of the individual received by the offender.
