God’s Word: To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1

Encouragement Shared: I get so excited when ever I learn something new. It brings on new perspective and confidence. The Bible states that our competence and confidence comes from God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. – 2 Corinthians 3:5

Persevere in Him:
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” 38 And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” 39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10: 35-39 This area of scripture is a reminder that perseverance through godly confidence will be rewarded by acts of faith. Not acts of pride … the lying tongue acts of out of pride. The lying tongue slays and destroys. So does the prideful heart …
Beloved, …do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; Proverbs 3:21

Heavenly Father,
Help us to understand our brevity … Let us heed the wisdoms and instructions to your word, so that we can live godly upright lives according to your will. Yes, we may make many plans but it is through you Lord that comes, the proper answer of the tongue and you graciously establish our steps. Thank you for protecting us through your love, mercies and faithfulness. Yes, Father great is your faithfulness your mercies are new each morning. On this morning and each morning we will give thanks for your wisdom and love. In Jesus name…AMEN!

31 Days in Proverbs ~

Proverbs 16
To humans belong the plans of the heart,
but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue.
2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them,
but motives are weighed by the LORD.
3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.
4 The LORD works out everything to its proper end—
even the wicked for a day of disaster.
5 The LORD detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.
6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
through the fear of the LORD evil is avoided.
7 When the LORD takes pleasure in anyone’s way,
he causes their enemies to make peace with them.
8 Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice.
9 In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the LORD establishes their steps.
10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle,
and his mouth does not betray justice.
11 Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD;
all the weights in the bag are of his making.
12 Kings detest wrongdoing,
for a throne is established through righteousness.
13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips;
they value the one who speaks what is right.
14 A king’s wrath is a messenger of death,
but the wise will appease it.
15 When a king’s face brightens, it means life;
his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.
16 How much better to get wisdom than gold,
to get insight rather than silver!
17 The highway of the upright avoids evil;
those who guard their ways preserve their lives.
18 Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed
than to share plunder with the proud.
20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD.
21 The wise in heart are called discerning,
and gracious words promote instruction.
22 Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent,
but folly brings punishment to fools.
23 The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent,
and their lips promote instruction.[c]
24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
25 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
26 The appetite of laborers works for them;
their hunger drives them on.
27 A scoundrel plots evil,
and on their lips it is like a scorching fire.
28 A perverse person stirs up conflict,
and a gossip separates close friends.
29 A violent person entices their neighbor
and leads them down a path that is not good.
30 Whoever winks with their eye is plotting perversity;
whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.
31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;
it is attained in the way of righteousness.
32 Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap,
but its every decision is from the LORD.

God’s Word: It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. 1Peter 2:15-17

Encouragement Shared: It is so wrong to judge unjustly … Why do we continually find ourselves behaving in a non-honorable way? It is usually one of these – envy, bitterness and the most toxic is PRIDE… Pride is the biggest deceiver.

Sadly, so many in the body live the life of PRIDE that hides and divides. Pride wreaks havoc and destroys people in the crossfire. Pride devises wicked lies …harsh words that curse. I have let go some toxic relationships because of it. And have been released of the bondage of evil reckless words that pierce like a sword. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. James 3:9-10 – That is why we must pray continually…Love deeply from a sincere heart that can only be done through the love of Christ in us. If we don’t love one another … then we are living a lie and the truth is not within us.

Heavenly Father, Give us the wisdom, the knowledge to discern the sincere heart of love … Teach us to love deeply, and commit all things before you. Put a guard over the door of our lips. Let us not love with just words… let us love in action along with the truths of your word. In Jesus name…Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,

James 3 Taming the Tongue
2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

God’s Word – The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Ecclesiastes 7:8

The Encouragement Shared –
The greatest love of a friend –Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. [John 15:13] We all have those special relationships that bring joy to our life. That friend you can trust with your most intimate thoughts with… We all have those special relationships we value. There is a season and a time that we will be disappointed, hurt or betrayed by a friend. Jesus states: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14 – Yes, he laid down His life for us. Yes, Jesus was disappointed, hurt and betrayed by many, the same many He came to die for.

Love is Needed: Why is it so hard to love one another deeply? In the body of Christ I have seen a friend that sticks closer than a brother. I have also seen friendships dissolved by anger, resentment, bitterness and envy. That kind of strife destroys lives. The truth is there is a way that seems right but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12

Where is The Love? Love a command of God. Jesus says; If you love me you will follow my commands. [John 14:15] I submit there is a reason that this command is difficult and if we closely examine it the truth is; it is the pride of our heart that deceives us. [Obadiah 1:3] Here is the command – Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8 In my most recent battle and at the on set of my diagnosis 13 years ago of my illness, the relationships of some friendships changed entirely. It has saddened me, because I have nothing but love, respect with a high regard for their place in my life and who they are. Although the relationships have changed, I continue to pray for spiritual wellness, healing from brokenness, and strength in distress. It brought me grief, it brought me to tears, but more importantly it brought me to my knees. The truth is God is at work in all of us…I have seen the acts of pride divide. Sin comes into all our lives, and to forgive is divine… It is God’s divine grace that allows us to forgive and grow in faith. Although relationships change, God never changes.

Faithful Love: God’s love shined bright through others in the body. Due to illness I was weak and tired unable to attend church; go to work; shop; or chores. One sister gifted with mercy, grace and prayer that brought prayer warriors to anoint me with oil to pray. That very same sister helped with provision and assisted my daughter. Then another sister and her family cooked and brought meals also blessing my daughter and me with provision. Another sister helped with a medical bill and cooked dinner for us. It is our faith in action that shows our love…It is by our love we are recognized in Christ. These beautiful ladies took the time out of their busy lives to give helping hands when it was needed. Being single and living with a teen that works in retail part-time, attends college full time and helps out more than most are willing at her age. I thank God for her… And I thank my God to the loving ladies that made the sacrificial act to love. I send my love and appreciation to all who were faithful to pray… faithful to act in love and were the hands of Christ in the midst of my storm. The blessing of the Lord be with you [all]. Psalm 129:8
