Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

The Encouragement: Do not seek to be perfect, seek instead to work at love in excellence…but only through the grace of God. Parenting: It requires sacrificial love, commitment, consideration, planning, and the desire to give endless amounts of time, patience, understanding, seeking wisdom to impart wisdom … and yes many prayers. It’s not designer clothes, or the latest over priced sneakers, or the latest electronic gadgets, or expensive gestures that put us into financial ruin … It’s all about protection, safety, care and listening, spending quantitative – qualitative time … showing: truth, respect, honor through love toward our children. It’s living the talk …not just talking the talk. It’s correction without breaking spirits… Sound counsel without reckless words. Loving in the most excellent ways.

So often, I witness the breaking of spirits in children, while I am out and about… This is coming from a mother that raised two children one of them,an extremely active child.  I can tell you losing your cool is not good.  Breaking your child’s esteem is greatly at risk.  If your child doesn’t do well running errands with you then don’t bring him/her.  Work it in during your work week… before work, during lunch or after work before pick-up.  Make your free time about family time, after all in the blink of an eye they are off to college and onto their own lives.  If you are a single parent, try doing Wal-Mart on line grocery ordering,  a $50.00 minimum then pick it up later.  Check out your local markets see if they offer that service.  There services that are doing this for a minimal fee.  Do as much of on-line business as possible, technology is a great asset we can do on line banking, bill payments, shop for supplies for the house, school and work.  We can even keep up with the kids academics – You  don’t need to be hit with a last minute project and scramble around to help them complete it.  We can view the class syllabus on line; set your smart phones up for strategies and plan with you children.  The best plan I love is assigning chores; my kids were excellent at this because they were competitive.  Their competitiveness not only got the house cleaned and laundry done, they made sure it stayed that way.  I miss those days.  - The most important order of keeping life in order is getting rest … do your best to get you and everyone to bed early.  Nothing more stressful than working with no sleep.  The body needs to rest, repair and rejuvenate.  Do pray consistently daily find a time that works best for you. – Pray in you alone time; the kids nap time and pray as a family, it keeps good communication flowing between you and God and God and the children.  This is what I call faith in action…  Be blessed and rest in his presence.

Fathers,[Parents] do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Eph. 6:4

Names of God ~ Jehovah Nissi

God’s Word – Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. Exodus 17:15

Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner)

Wisdom Shared:
As we grow in wisdom through the word it builds us up, along with
the building of our faith. Yes, the Lord is our banner… Our protector… Our Shield.
Do you ever find your self going around and around the the same issues in a
certain area of your life? I know I do, and the questions I ask; Father what am I
to gain from this? How can I be obedient to learn, grow, persevere through this
circumstance. Beloved, that opens way for God to reveal, restore and revere us
through the desire to be obedient. To be obedient is better than sacrifice beloved.
To be obedient opens up the way for God to grow us through faith, and to bless us
with the best of the land. Yes, even our enemies will be at peace with us.

Watch and Pray:
Watch and pray through your circumstance, so that the evilness of temptation will not over take
you to bring forth havoc and destruction. Be a willing because we know the spirit is willing, but the body is weak…
Be devoted to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Because we know “The Lord is Our Banner” Our Protector… Our Shield … Our Provider!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford

God’s Word: Hear my voice when I call, Lord;be merciful to me and answer me. Psalm 27:7

Bless The LORD O’ My Soul … Lift Up His Holy Name…

Encouragement Shared:
I attended the premiere for the movie War Room …
And I came home inspired;
It impressed upon my heart, that our prayer life must be
a priority. That spending each day in God’s word is necessary
it stand firm for the good fight for the faith.
It brought me back to the time when I was a baby
Christian; I would write down every prayer … prayer request;
I would write down every scripture; The Lord brought me to
during my devotions; I have note books filled with prayers;
prayer request; and prayers lead by the Lord; even those
prayers from the scriptures that were place on my heart, for
me, and sometimes for me to share with others. The beauty
about that is … My prayer always has been to be that godly woman
that always has a timely word. [Proverbs 15:13]

It was journal writing and sending personal encouragements to people via email, cards and letters that started my ministry of blogging six years ago.
My prayer is that whom ever reads my blog be inspired to seek the Lord and seek his word for a full life with Christ, growing in wisdom, knowledge and understanding to know God’s perfect will for our journey of faith.

A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! Proverbs 15:13

As I prepared for bed Psalm 103 is a song my church worship team sings and it was a
song in my head and my heart last night. It inspired me to share today.

Bless the LORD O’My Soul … Bless His Holy Name, Sing like never before O’My Soul … Bless His Holy Name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
