The Power of Prayer Works

God’s Word: From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. Psalm 3:8

Wisdom Shared: At the start of each day as I rise a single thought comes to mind. It could be healing for someone, or an answer to prayer whispered in my spirit.
Today’s word; From the Lord comes deliverance … Thank you from delivering us from the evil one.  On other days the first thought of the day could be lifting up prayers for a a family member or close friend going through a hardship … or a verse to encourage for sustaining grace. Sometimes it is a song in my heart that I find myself humming through out the day.  At the start of the day the inner thoughts set the tone of the day.  As I look out my terrace today … It is a cloudy and rainy day… the hope for the day to set my goals in motion to accomplish the work before me.  Pray continually throughout the day — To pray for God’s people to gain wisdom and honor, to gain knowledge and understanding, to act on God’s glory and power.  And more importantly not act in the flesh, nor compromise in the truths that set us apart from the world.
Thank you Lord, for your loving kindnesses that you so graciously display toward those who love you and call on the name of the Lord.
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,

A Prayer for Thanks:
For this reason, … Heavenly Father; since the day we heard about your people,
I have not stopped praying for your people. May we your people continually
ask you God to fill your sons and daughters with the knowledge of your will
through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[so that we your
people may live a life worthy of you our Lord and please you in every way:
bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,  being
strengthened with all power according to your glorious might so that we may
have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to you Father, who
has qualified us to share in the inheritance of your holy people in the kingdom
of light.  For you Father have rescued us from the dominion of darkness and
brought us into the kingdom of the Son you love Christ Jesus, in whom we
have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. We thank you for equipping us for
every good work you have called your people to do.  We thank you for the
courage and strength… and the empowerment of your word spoken into
our lives.  In Jesus name… Amen!

God’s Word: … But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness,  faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith.
Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made
your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:11-12

Wisdom Shared:
Today is the beginning of First…
It is the first day of a new chapter in our life!
It is the first day of the year…
It is the first day for resolutions for many …
First day of a new outlook as the first day of the new calendar unfolds…
Yes, Beloved, today I resolve to cling to hope, faith and love…
I resolve to not only read the word of God but to actually allow it to change my life in Christ.  I resolve to be strong and courageous and not allow fear to grip me.
Beloved, as we read through the bible this year … may it ignite divine purposes through wisdom, through instruction, through understanding words of insight…
Gaining integrity, justice fairly through the love that God has poured out on us.
Heavenly Father,
May the words through the scriptures advance your people in gaining wisdom, knowledge and understanding to a new level of conscientiousness that equips us for every good work, every divine appointment, and daily assignments for the sake of your kingdom.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  We thank you for the hope of glory that is our story that unfolds before us.  In Christ name we pray… Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,

Scripture Readings:

The Purpose of Proverbs

1 These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel.

2 Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,
to help them understand the insights of the wise.
3 Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple,
knowledge and discernment to the young.

5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.
Let those with understanding receive guidance
6 by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables,
the words of the wise and their riddles.

God’s Word: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6
Angels We Have Heard on High
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly, sweetly through the night
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their brief delight
Gloria, in excelsis Deo
Gloria, in excelsis Deo

Wisdom Shared: There are some days that I wake up with a song in my heart that brings joy and inspiration to the start of my day.  Today the song; Angels We Have Heard on High … was the song.  It is this time of year that we are inundated with images of  “The Magic of Christmas” … I will submit to you there is no magic,  we want to buy into the propaganda of magic because it keeps religion out of the concept of Christmas.   There are family traditions and memories that bring a life time filled with joy.    But, what if I told you that it is not a time of year or place … or magical?  It is an absolute miraculous event an expression of love for all humanity…  It’s not a feeling but a presence … And they shall call him “Emmanuel” which means God is with us [Isaiah Chapter 9] …   It is that prophetic word of the birth of Jesus, that empowers us to the joy of God’s Holy presence.

This is Love -  That the little Babe … was born to die for us to bring life in all its abundance.

The Bible states it this way:

Hebrews 2:8-10

… and put everything under their feet.”

In putting everything under them,[c] God left nothing that is not subject to them.[d] Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.[e]9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.

It is a presence that leads us into eternity … The ultimate gift that brings wisdom, courage and strength.  The gift that is continually enriching our lives in the midst our troubles and fears yes, God preserves our lives.  In the midst of our brokenness and sorrows there is joy for tomorrow.  In our daily journey in life there is an Mighty Counselor, Everlasting Father … a Prince of Peace.  As you  move through your day and you see the words do you believe? … If you do believe in Christ, take the opportunity to share the “Good News of Emmanuel … God is with us!  And if you don’t believe in Christ seek the true meaning behind the Miracle of Christmas …

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,

In Christ Love,
