God’s Word: At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. Titus 3:3a
Today is Election Day 2016 – Sadly for me I have observed some irrational exchanges in words, social media commentaries … memes and even broken friendships and family discord. I have observed the truth of what Christ has spoken: A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45 …
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[ Colossians 3:4-6]
I personally, have had Christians verbally bash my decision which is by the way my freedom to vote. In regard to my view point on my free will to vote for who I feel would be most qualified candidate. There are many issues to consider… It is just not about abortion and same sex marriage. There are a host of issues that go along with right to life – same sex marriage. There issues in local government, infrastructure, health care, finances … the list goes on. I am not diminishing the right to life… nor am I minimizing same sex marriage … However, the lot has been cast on these issues and the only way these two issues will change is through involvement – not just sitting at home and stating this is wrong. It’s about getting the truth of God’s word out to these people, sharing the grace and glory of our heavenly Father has for ALL.
I don’t agree with abortion but I do know that each person is responsible for making that decision. I am not going to be held accountable for someone else’s decision to abort a pregnancy. There are many things that I disagree with the administration but the truth is, I know whom I serve, and the administration is giving the people what they want! I know through much fasting and prayer that if God places him in that position we will suffer greatly as a people. Just as the people wanted kings and God said NO! Then finally God did give them what they asked for … and it was not good. -
1 Samuel 8:18-20
18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.” 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We wanta king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” The people want same sex marriage they got it! They want God out of schools they got it! They want abortion they got it. But think about this … there are many broken women sitting in the pew next to you… next to me whom have had abortions … why? Because of fear … finances … frame of mind. What ever their reasoning these people didn’t know any better and you bet your life they live with that conviction every single day… and it hurts. Only one who has experience it can empathize with that sisters pain. So how do we in the church minister to this woman sitting in the pew next us? … by calling her a murderer? If God has shown us grace, we have the same obligation to minister to her and all of those woman sitting in the pew next to us. There is forgiveness for a repentant soul. As far as the other evangelicals supporting Mr. Trump I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, not of man. Approval of man leads to snares. And I’m not going to have my faith blind sided because of those evangelicals supporting Mr Trump. He is a sexist predator, and a weak man. I grew up in New York City as young and impressionable teen listening to his scandalous rhetoric then and honestly it has gotten worse! So please don’t sell me on the issues he claims he stands for because his words are stating the truth of his heart. Abortion – Same sex marriage and how we vote are personal decisions that each one of us will have answer to. The church needs to wake up! And the church needs to step it up to help the widows, the homeless, the poor, the mom who is considering having that abortion… the broken the weak etc. etc… Where are we for those whom are wrestling with that decision? Are we standing at the clinics ministering to these woman? If the Church was really interested in serving these woman there wouldn’t be 50 million deaths due to abortion. Its sad but faith without works is useless. The evidence is in our love and ability to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
In Christ Love,
